Sho’t left Zimbali

My colleagues and I took our annual short left for some “team building”. But this was a bit different from our usual vacays. The booking was hassle free… maybe it was because booked the accommodation was very affordable :-). However, the excitement died down very quickly following the booking, due to various reasons.

We even packed the morning before the short left. I never pack on the day of the trip…. Clearly I didn’t take this trip seriously. But none of us anticipated the beauty we were about to see. Zimbali Coastal Resort is nothing short of spectacular. I appreciated every moment I experienced on this short left from nature to the architecture did I mention the art piece oh my…. Hopefully the snapshots 📸 will display all that beauty.

A shining star

I was listening to such a beautiful music in my dream. One of the tunes that stood out for me was Love – Masego Mogapi ft Brain Themba. You sang like an angel that you are my bru beautiful work I tell you.

Even if you are no longer here with us on earth, you are always in our dreams & in our hearts still filling God’s purpose. Death might have taken u away from us but your presence & wonderful soul still manages to out shine it. You really are one of a kind. Keep on shining Masego Kgatoentle Mogapi.

Masego “My Bru” Mogapi

I never thought you’d bounce so soon Skaaikie. We had so many plans,  we were gonna rock the world together, you being the super insane graphic designer me being the crazy journalist. “The world was gonna be our oyster” as you’d always say.

You were one of the most AWESOMEST friends I had, NO in fact we were not friends – jy was My Bru – our bond was way stronger than any friendship. You were that one person I could always count on. You never let me down in every sense of the word.

I remember the time we went around ko Hoerskool looking for the illest battle emcees to battle then one day they decided to put us on the spot. And we told them we’re gonna gooi you with just one line “1 2 3 4 knock on the door – knock knock what are you waiting for? *then we actually knock on the door* lol.

Then there was the time all the My Bru’s a.k.a gopodie goodies decided to be naughty in the maths class and we actually got caught lol. Oh and back in grade 8 when all the girls in grade 8A decided that we will not be joining the rest of the school for assembly and you started humming “Stomp Your Feet by Crmpster” and the teacher thought it was me cause I was the nuaghtyest  kid in class while all the time it was you.

Then there was our varsity days lol reminiscing about all those mischievous times we had :-).

I can’t stop blazing Travellin Man by DJ Honda & Mos Def one of the many jams we loved. You were one of a kind My Bru and I am very grateful to have known you during your short stay here on earth bhade. You will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart the Queen of AWESOMERY. You will always be a My Bru cause the three of us complete each other. No human could come between us so we are certainly not gonna let death do so.

“Memories don’t live like people do
They always remember you whether things are good or
bad it’s just the memories”

Open Letter to Deep House Listeners

A friend of mine asked me whether I had read this open letter and by then I didn’t even know that it existed. He did what any good friend should do…. got the link for me. Very interesting rabbi must say oh and it’s also hilarious.

“I do not listen to Deep House simply because it makes me think and imagine things and not fulfill my goal of getting laid at night, Deep House will make me imagine things the night and not care about my next shag that I am gonna take home tonight it makes me wanna look for a wife at a club not a one night stand. A majority of people that listen to Deep are people with a wife or steady girlfriend they won’t cheat on or have a steady makwapheni to take to gigs coz the wife or GF is at home watching Style TV or Desperate House Wives or breastfeeding a baby.
